Returning to Geneva

Brenda and I will be visiting the site of the former Geneva Girls School in August 2012. If you’d like to join us, please contact me via ‘Contact Me’ on this site. We’ll spend some time at the cemetery and pay our respects to the children buried there as well as those that spent part of their childhood behind the bars of Geneva.

Although my parents and I were all born within 50 miles of the Geneva Girls School site, we didn’t know until recently that my dad’s mother was in “inmate” there in 1908 at the age of 14. I hope to learn a lot more about this sad period in her life and the school itself.

I saw your post about visiting Geneva Girls School. My grandmother was sent there in 1940 and I was wondering if you could give me any information about the place or share pictures you may have taken. thanks
